Complete all fields in English. Your submission receives a reference code and a private link so you can make edits until the deadline.
Submission Guidelines
We welcome abstract submissions for the 21st Islands of the World Conference, Curaçao, 6–10 June 2027.
Submissions can be made as an individual paper or as part of an organized session/panel.
General Guidelines
- Abstracts must be 150–250 words and should not include citations or references.
- Write for an international and multidisciplinary audience.
- All abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee.
- An author may appear on a maximum of two abstracts and may be corresponding author on one abstract only.
- Individual papers must be assigned to the most relevant conference track.
- Abstracts must be submitted through the online submission system; submissions by email will not be accepted.
- Presenting authors of accepted abstracts must register for the conference.
- By submitting, authors agree that their abstract may be published in the conference programme and related materials.
Conference Tracks
Individual papers should be submitted under one of the following tracks:
- Culture, Society, & Community
- Marine and Coastal Ecosystems & Environmental Management
- Health, Equity, & Care
- Politics & Governance
- Technology & Innovation
Organized Sessions / Panels
Organized sessions consist of four papers. The session organizer should upload one Word document containing:
- Session title
- Organizer name and contact details
- Titles and authors of all four papers
- Four abstracts of 150–250 words each
All four abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee. Acceptance of the session depends on the acceptance of the individual papers.
The Scientific Committee may suggest changes to the composition or scheduling of a session.
All presenters must register individually for the conference.
Withdrawal
To withdraw a submitted abstract, please contact the Conference Secretariat.
